Parallels is a photographic project developed across the Balkans that examines the lingering presence of war and trauma within everyday life. Rather than focusing on sites of conflict or historical monuments, the work turns toward ordinary landscapes, interiors, and moments of quiet human presence, where the past remains embedded but unspoken.
The project explores how histories of violence persist through atmosphere, architecture, and gesture, shaping emotional life long after events have formally ended. Through a slow, observational approach, Parallels considers how memory is carried by place, revealing parallels between personal experience and collective history in regions marked by displacement and survival.
